Building Confidence in Radiation Therapy Physics

Because confidence comes from doing.

Before we dive into formulas, decay constants, and dose calculations, let’s talk about something even more important — your mindset.

If you’ve ever looked at a physics question and thought, “I’ll never get this,” you’re not alone. Many students I’ve taught have felt that way at some point. But here’s the truth: confidence doesn’t come from knowing everything. It comes from showing up, practicing, and proving to yourself that you can figure things out, with a little help (from me!).

Physics isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being curious. When you shift from “I can’t do this” to “I’m learning how to do this,” everything changes. You start to see patterns, understand the logic behind the numbers, and realize that you’re far more capable than you thought.

So as you begin this journey with me — through weekly reviews, practice questions, and little mindset boosts — I want you to remember this:

You don’t need to be the best. You just need to keep going! The difference between the people who fail and the people who succeed is that the people who succeed keep going when others don't!

Each week, we’ll work to build your understanding step by step, and with it, your confidence. By the time exam season rolls around, you’ll look back and see how far you’ve come — not just in knowledge, but in belief.

You’ve got this. Truly.

Stay tuned for next week’s review: Foundations of Physics — where we’ll start turning confusion into clarity, one concept at a time.

Stay as positive as your protons 🤓,

-Sara
